英语当中有很多连接词（conjunctions and sentence connectors），用来连接句子的不同成分，引出各个部分之间的关系。这里给大家做一个总结。

1、表示转折，连接的两部分信息具有相反的意思。这类词有两组：
A. but---however（but和however的意思相同）
He succeeded in passing the college entrance exam, but he suddenly decided to gave it up.
他通过了高考，但却突然决定放弃上学的机会。
He doesnt talk too much, however, he is always willing to help others.
他说话不多，但是很愿意帮助别人。
B. yet---nevertheless（含义是“然而”，“但是”）
I havent finished the work yet.
我还没把工作做完。
Nevertheless, the train is reported has been losing contanct for two hours.
然而，据报道这列火车已经失去联系两个小时了。
still（仍然、但是）
We still need your support.
我们仍然需要您的支持。
on the contrary（正相反）
On the contrary, the policemen released him.
相反，警察竟然释放了他。
on the other hand（另一方面）
We are capable of solving this problem, on the other hand, we need to be authorized to do so.
我们是能解决这个问题，另一方面，我们需要得到授权才能进行。
in contrast（与此相反）
In contrast, we choose to talk to them.
与此相反，我们选择和他们对话。
in spite of（尽管）
Things are getting better in spide of the lack of energy.
尽管能源缺乏，但是情况还是在好转之中。
conversely（相反地）
Conversely, the car slowed down and pulled over.
相反，这辆汽车减速并且停在了路边。
2、表示“和”，“也”、“而且”这样的含义。这类词有：
and---also（并且）
besides（除...之外，而且）
Besides the beautiful flowers, she bought some food.
除了买了一些漂亮的花，她还买了些吃的。
moreover（而且）
Moreover, we take a lot of water with us.
而且，我们还随身带了很多水。
furthermore（而且）
Furthermore, he think he should do more experiments in office.
而且，他认为应该在办公室做更多的实验。
likewise（同样地）
I play football everyday and my brother is going to do likewise.
我每天都踢球，我弟弟也打算这么做。
similarly（同样地）
They went to the fair, similarly we went to that fair.
in addition（另外）
In addition, you can join us if you have time.
另外，如果你有时间，就和我们一起吧。
3、表示结果，这类词有：
so---therefore（因此）
We have to work 7 days this week , therefore, we have no chance to travel.
这周我们得天天上班，没时间去旅游了。
consequently（因此）
Consequently, she was accepted by everybody.
结果大家都最终接受了她。
thus（因此，从而）
He doesnt work hard, thus he lose his job.
as a result（结果）
As a result, we found out the reason why people dont like the new product.
结果，我们找到了人们不喜欢这款新产品的原因。
连接词对写作有非常大的帮助，通过连接词把不同句子和含义恰当地结合起来，从而提升整篇文章的逻辑性，增强文章的说服力，文章结构变得紧密精巧。毫不夸张地说，连接词用好了，写作能提升至少一个档次。
