teven是一个有多种词性的词，但是常用的是副词，作副词用法较广,位置较活.现将其作副词的用法简单归纳如下：
一、用在比较级前,加强语气,表示程度.具有still,yet,much的意义,汉语意思为“(比……)更,还要”。如：
Stan was speaking even more slowly than usual.
斯坦说得比平常还要慢。
During his second day Edward looked even more pale and quiet than on his first.
第二天，爱德华看起来比前一天更加苍白，也更加安静了。
The problem became even more complicated.
问题更复杂了。
This dictionary is even more useful than that one.这本词典比那本更为有用。

二、放在它所强调的词、短语或从句前,用来加强语气,表示“即使,甚至连……都”之意
1.强调名词
Even a child can understand the book.即使小孩也能看懂那本书。
Even a child can understand it .
就连小孩子也能理解。
Even the movements of the heart and lungs are greatly reduced.(冬眠动物)甚至连心脏和肺部的运动也大大减少了。
2.强调形容词
Bamboo is so strong that people use it to build houses and even high bridges over rivers.竹子很结实,人们用它建造房屋,甚至在河上架大桥。
The chain was even worthy of the gold watch.这条表链甚至配得上那只金表。
Its an unattractive building, ugly even.
这栋建筑毫不美观，甚至可以说难看。
3.强调副词

从以上各例可以看出,even的用法不仅广泛而且位置也较灵活，大体上说,它可位于句首,也可位于句中或句末；但是,even在句中的位置不同,全句的意思或重点也有所不同。一般来说,even的位置应靠近它所强调的词语和短语.例如：
Even John doesn′t go out in the summer(so certainly nobody else does).即使约翰夏天也不外出(所以别人也不一定外出) 。
John even doesn′t go out in the summer(so he certainly does nothing else).约翰夏天甚至连家门都不出(所以他一定不做别的什么事情) 。
三、even和if,even和though可分别组成连词,引导让步状语从句,意思是“即使”； even if一般引导的是把握不大或假设的事情,可以译为“即使、哪怕; 虽然; 即使，纵然; 即若”
even though引出的是事实，可译为“即使、尽管、虽然、纵然; 即若; 即令”：
Even if we achieve great success in our work, we should not be proud.
即使我们在工作中取得了巨大成绩，也不应该自满。
Go after what you want, even though you may not believe that it is possible.
去追求你想要的，即使你可能并不相信它是能做到的。
Ill get there, even if I have to walk.

t四、even as连用,表示“恰恰在……的时候(just at the same moment as)”的意思：
